Night Studies

A small instrument for making your own ambient music. Shape a sound, find a few chords, and follow them somewhere.

Night Studies grew out of the music on this site: an invitation to turn listening into making.

Choose a sound, build a four-chord progression, and sketch a melody. Adjust warmth, shimmer, room, and echo while the music plays, or step into the listening view and let your piece unfold.

No account is needed. Save a piece in your browser, or export a project file to keep it and open it again later.
